out of school program

We offer a dynamic 10 week Science and sustainability program for home schooled students aged 7 - 12 years. Each week we cover a different topic from visiting outer space, to the depths of the oceans and everything in between. This program is designed to develop students knowledge and understanding of the natural world, develop awareness for sustainable practices and empower each of us to protect Earth.

elasmos 10 week science and sustainability program is based on both the K-6 Science and Technology syllabus and K-6 Geography Syllabus, it is supported by the NSW Quality Teaching Model, strengthened by the 8 Ways of Learning and connected to the global problem solving framework: the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.   

The program, consisting of 10 weekly workshops is designed to develop students knowledge and understanding of the natural world, develop awareness for sustainable practices and the protection of the environment.

Our program fosters imagination, inspires curiosity and empowers students to not only reach for the stars but rattle them. Learning is both interactive and creative. We encourage discussion and learning is directed towards developing a students’ capacity for critical thinking, ethical reasoning and problem solving.

Each workshop will be home to a maximum of 6 students, this intimate learning environment connects students to themselves, one another and this remarkable planet. Ensuring a bright and sustainable planet for generations to come.

What is included 

  1. 10 workshops at 1 hour each covering a different topic each week

  2. High educator to student ratio 1:6

Cost

The total cost for the 10 week program is $300

Course fees must be paid prior to commencement of the program.
